Luke Goddard - Champion
Mighty congrats to Luke Goddard (Hendon) on winning the English Amateur Title at Rye GC. 2 rounds of qualifying to be in the top 64, then 6 games of matchplay. His consistency and composure throughout the week was remarkable. In the 36 hole final he lost an early 4 hole lead and went into lunch all square. However 3 birdies in 4 holes from the 27th hole eased him into a 3/2 victory over Farren Keenan (Surrey). All of Middlesex should applaud his efforts which surely must cement his call-up into the Walker Cup team. A word of congrats to Scott Fallon (Hendon) for also playing his way into the knockout format losing in the last 32.
